  • Facility in Eastern Nebraska is looking for several traveling Med-Surg nurses. The hospital is looking for both day and night shift coverage. The shift will be twelve hours, with contracts ranging 13-26 weeks, and hour guarantees of 36-48 per week.
    • Job Requirements
    • ACLS Preferred, BLS
    • Common diagnosis / Types of patients include: MedSurg/Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thrive
    • RN's may be required to titrate drips such as Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine
    • Nurses should have some tele awareness
      • Schedule Information
      • Day shift: 0630-1900
      • Night shift: 1830-0700
      • Travelers will be scheduled and may be approved for a limited amount of block scheduling
      • Every other weekend required
      • 1 major, 1 minor holiday required
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Department: Med Tele / Ortho RN - 4th Floor North & South
        • Tele/Monitor Techs interpret, but RNs should have awareness
        • Orientation provided: 2 days of unit/department specific orientation
        • Scrub Color/Dress Code: RNs wear Navy Blue
          • Additional Details
          • The unit has a nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
          • The unit has a total of 55 beds
          • Nurse aids/patient care techs are present with duties and ratios as specified
          • Charge Nurse is available on each shift and may take assignments
          • Floating may be required to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients
          • A nurse on this unit is successful when they can manage the busy pace of the unit, have good attendance, and are a team player, friendly, and patient-focused
